Laura Zullo serves as the vice chancellor for facilities management, where she leads a team of experienced professionals responsible for daily operations, maintenance, and preservation of University facilities, grounds and physical infrastructure. The team strives to align services, performance and accountability with Pitt’s values while realizing efficiencies in systems, processes, and resource management.
Previously, Zullo served as the executive director of administration in Finance and Operations, with responsibility for strategic direction and financial oversight as well as planning and coordination for the Capital Projects Review Board and the Property & Facilities Committee of the Board of Trustees.
With a career at the University that spans over 35 years, Zullo has a deep knowledge of Pitt in addition to extensive experience in engineering and operations management. Beginning as a mechanical engineer in Facilities Management, she has advanced through a series of positions of increasing accountability. Zullo was instrumental in multiple initiatives that advanced the operations of the University including leading the development of Pitt’s first sustainability plan, implementation of a new energy management system to advance energy conservation, and redesigning the capital project and Capital Budget approval processes.
In addition, Zullo has served as an active member of the ReSTART Budget Model Review Workgroup, Support RC Committee, Chancellor’s Sustainability Council, HR Partner Steering Committee, and United Way Women United.
Zullo earned her master’s degree in industrial engineering and a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, both from the University of Pittsburgh.
